About

Hi, there! I am Nicole…a listener, learner, educator, advocate, and coach.

I founded Sankalpa Wellness out of a passion for sharing holistic strategies that empower others to achieve their health and wellness goals.

I am an Integrative Health Coach certified by Duke Health and a National Board Certifed Health and Wellness Coach by the National Board of Medical Examiners. My journey into coaching began in my late 20s when I faced health challenges while preparing for pregnancy. The transformative progress I experienced through a meaningful coaching partnership inspired me to help others on their own paths.

In addition to coaching, I’m a trained yoga instructor, weaving yogic philosophies into my practice. Yoga has profoundly enriched my life as a way of being, and sharing its wisdom with others brings me immense joy.

At the Contemplative Sciences Center at the University of Virginia, I support the design, delivery, and integration of contemplative education across programs and academic instruction in an effort to enhance holistic flourishing for our university community. But my favorite role is being a wife and mom to the amazing Kuhn Crew and the heart of everything I do!

You can find me:

  • Eating…all the veggies! I love experimenting with plant-based recipes to create delicious, wholesome meals packed with flavor and nutrition. Current recipe we are enjoying: Loaded Lentil Nachos

  • Playing…board games and video games with my family. Our favorites are Ticket to Ride, Ghost Hunters, and Outfoxed—perfect for family bonding!

  • Listening to…live music, anywhere and everywhere. I enjoy most genres and love the energy and connection of a live performance. Last year I saw Maggie Rogers, Billy Strings, and Dave Matthews Band and up next will be Luke Combs in April.

  • Thinking about…my next adventure. Last year we explored Disney World, Philadelphia, Cape Charles, and Hawaii. This year I am headed to Paris, London, Charleston, and coastal Maine.

  • Volunteering…with Hogs & Kisses Farm Animal Sanctuary in North Garden, VA, and supporting the Crozet Elementary School PTO which are two causes close to my heart.
